Introduction

i. Skateland is a club dedicated to roller skating activities as well as other entertainment activities. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun space for all skating enthusiasts, regardless of their experience level.

ii. Throughout these Internal Rules of Operation, wherever the terms “Skateland”, “we”, “us” or “our” are mentioned, they shall be interpreted as referring to SKYLAND PARK S.R.L., a company with registered office in Cluj Napoca, no. 2-4, Tudor Vladimirescu St., building C3, ground floor, Cluj county, registered at the Trade Register under no. J12/103/2019, C.U.I. 4041767.

iii. The following terms are defined as follows:

”Participation Agreement” means a binding document that must be completed and signed by participants before they can access Skateland facilities. This agreement details the rules and conditions for the use of the facilities, the responsibilities of the participants, as well as the risks associated with the activities. By signing the Participation Agreement, participants confirm that they have read and understood the terms and conditions and agree to abide by them;

”Location” means the physical space in which Skateland organized activities and events take place. This includes all available facilities and areas such as the skating surface, rest areas, party areas, restrooms, changing rooms and any other areas accessible to participants and staff;

Under age means a person under 18;

”Participant” means any person who takes an active part in the events, activities or use of facilities offered by Skateland, as well as persons who are present to assist or supervise others;

”Staff” means the employees, collaborators and representatives of Skateland who are responsible for the management, supervision and maintenance of the Location. These include instructors, supervisors, security guards, maintenance personnel and other employees who work to ensure the smooth operation of the facilities and the safety of all Participants.

iv. Each participant will comply strictly with the rules provided:

  • On the website www.skateland.ro;
  • In these Internal Rules of Operation;
  • By display in the Skateland Location;
  • In the contents of the video briefing made available to any participant in Skateland activities;
  • As indicated by the Skateland representatives, at the time of access and throughout the duration of the activity at the Location

under penalty of immediate termination of access to the Location and prohibition from participating in future activities carried out by us. All such rules, policies, procedures are an integral part of these Internal Operating Rules.

General rules for participants

  1. All customers must be registered at the reception upon entering the Location. Attendees will only be granted access to the Location after filling in and going through the mandatory Participation Agreement and paying the entrance fee. The signing of the Participation Agreement by the Participants will be verified by the Staff, on the basis of which access to the skating area and other activities at the Location may be granted. This agreement is valid and operates for the duration of participation in Skateland activities taking place at Skateland after it has been signed.
  2. Underage children will be accompanied by their parents on their first visit to Skateland, who will give their written consent for each underage child. The agreement can also be completed online at the following link: skateland.ro. Subsequently, underage children will present the Participation Agreement signed by their parents.
  3. The minimum age for access to the skating area is 6 years.
  4. Staff Instructions must be strictly followed by all Participants.
  5. SKATELAND will not offer refunds in any form, including if, after completing the Agreement and paying the entry fee, the Participant finds that he/she is unable to roller skate for any reason beyond Skateland’s control.
  6. Participants must recognize and respect their own physical limitations when participating in roller skating activities. It is forbidden to attempt advanced maneuvers or techniques on the skating area if the Participant does not have the necessary experience or skills.
  7. Any person accessing and participating in roller-skating activities on the skating area must be aware that these activities involve risks of injury. By entering the Location, Participants accept and assume full responsibility and liability for any injury or damage that may result from the use of the facilities, to the fullest extent permitted by law. SKATELAND shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage suffered as a result of carrying out activities at the Location, subject to the law.
  8. If the skating conditions are unsafe or there is any kind of discomfort for the Participant, including physical and/or mental discomfort, the Participant must stop the activity immediately and notify the Staff.
  9. It is compulsory for Participants to behave respectfully, politely and appropriately towards each other in order to avoid any unpleasant situations that could result in moral or physical harm (physical violence, insults, emotional damage to other Participants).
  10. Participants are forbidden to use inappropriate or offensive language in the Skateland Location as well as any type of physical and/or verbal violence, both towards other Participants and towards Skateland staff.
  11. Participants are under the obligation to report to the Staff any unusual or unsafe aspect that affects the safety and smooth running of the activities identified at the Location. Participants are also instructed to report to Skateland Staff any event involving dizziness, shortness of breath, feeling faint or any other physical or mental discomfort and to stop any physical activity immediately.
  12. In the event that a Participant’s behavior is perceived by other Participants as harassing, threatening, intimidating or unwanted, Staff will issue a verbal warning. If the Participant persists in such behavior, the Participant will be restricted access to the Location by exclusion from the skating area with the assistance of security personnel, if the Participant resists.
  13. SKATELAND reserves the right to exclude temporarily or permanently any person whose behavior is not compatible with the safety or the physical or moral well-being of other Participants as well as with the purpose of the activity at the Location: recreational sport.
  14. In order to ensure the welfare of all Participants, persons who are visibly in a temporarily impaired physical condition (e.g. plaster, splint, sutures), may not be accepted on the skating area.
  15. At Skateland, we utilize surveillance cameras to ensure the safety and protection of all Participants. Anyone entering our premises agrees to these recordings. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Rules on personal belongings

  1. It is mandatory for participants to store all bags, backpacks, caps, hats and hooded clothing in the lockers specially set up for them at Skateland activities. Access to the skating area with these items is strictly prohibited. It is recommended that accessories (jewelry, watches, glasses) and personal belongings in pockets (e.g. keys, phones, wallets, etc.) should also be stored in the lockers specially provided. Skateland cannot be held responsible for personal belongings in the Skateland Location (changing rooms, skating area, supervision and relaxation area, etc.).
  2. In order to avoid any risk of loss, destruction or theft, please do not leave valuables (jewelry, money, etc.) in plain sight.
  3. The locker may only be used by Participants during one single entry to the Location. Participants are prohibited from storing personal items overnight in the Skateland lockers. Participants may keep all personal belongings locked in the lockers. The Participants alone are responsible for their personal belongings, which shall remain in their custody and safekeeping for the duration of their stay at the Skateland Location. All lockers will be emptied after use. Skateland reserves the right to empty the lockers at the end of each business day, according to the communicated schedule, at which time the lockers will automatically open. Personal belongings or any other property found in the lockers will be kept in a sealed plastic bag in a storage area.

Specific rules for the skating area

  1. Access to the skating area is only allowed to Participants with rollers. Skates will be provided by SKATELAND. The use of own roller skates is permitted, provided that they are clean, do not damage the skating area and are checked in advance by our Staff.
  2. Access to the skating surface is permitted only after viewing the video covering the Skating Area Safety Rules.
  3. Access to the skating area is permitted to a maximum of 60 persons at one time. For reasons of safety and for the well-being of all Participants, exceeding this number may result in delaying entry to the Skating Area for an additional hour if the maximum capacity has already been reached.
  4. SKATELAND activities, like all physical activities, involve some inherent risks (risks that cannot be eliminated without changing the nature of the activity). Skateland understands that it is important that the Adult Participant (or underage Participant and parent or guardian) understand the inherent risks of the activities conducted at Skateland. All activities carried out by Participants at the Skateland Location are carried out at the Participants’ own risk, to the fullest extent under applicable law.
  5. It is recommended that Participants wear appropriate protective equipment, namely helmet, knee pads, elbow pads.
  6. All Participants must skate in the normal skating direction at all times. The normal skating direction is counter-clockwise. Participants may skate in the opposite of the normal direction only if the DJ specifically announces that this is possible. Participants shall pay attention to the DJ’s announcements and comply immediately in an organized manner.
  7. To ensure an organized flow and prevent accidents, faster skaters will position themselves towards the outside of the skating area and slower skaters will move towards the inside of the skating area
  8. Participants shall not impede traffic and shall not stand while skating on the skating area. If a Participant needs to stop, they will move to the edge of the skating area without interfering with other Participants.
  9. Aggressive skating (which may include fast maneuvers, advanced jumping or pirouetting techniques or high speed) is permitted only in sessions for professional and advanced skaters.
  10. The aids, plastic frames/other material made available by Skateland called “Skate Buddies”, must only be used to help Participants learn to skate and must be used responsibly and appropriately, without interfering with other experienced Participants. In this regard, the rule is that these wheeled aids must be used on the inside of the skating area.

Activities prohibited on the skating area

  1. Skateboards, bicycles, scooters and other equipment other than roller skates are forbidden.
  2. It is forbidden for Participants to leave the Location with skates rented from SKATELAND. If a Participant does not comply with this rule, he/she will be restricted from the Location.
  3. Hide-and-seek and competitive speed skating on the skating area are prohibited.
  4. It is forbidden to cut directly through skater traffic to reach the center of the skating surface. The Participant must move diagonally and gradually, in line with the general direction of skating, until reaching the center of the track. If the Participant needs assistance to cross from the outside of the area to the inner section, he/she may ask one of the supervisors for guidance.
  5. For the safety of Participants, telephone calls, loudspeakers and accessories such as selfie sticks or similar are prohibited on the skating area.
  6. Food, drinks and chewing gum are prohibited on the skating area.
  7. It is forbidden to wear on the skating area scarves, shawls, or any accessories and articles of clothing with strings that may create a risk of entrapment or strangulation.
  8. Walking, running and yelling on the skating area are strictly prohibited.
  9. Skating is forbidden for women who are pregnant.

Acces și activități general interzise

  1. It is forbidden for Participants or any persons with food or beverages to enter the Location, except for bottled water in plastic containers. Participants will be allowed to consume food and beverages purchased from Skateland exclusively in the specially designated area.
  2. Alcoholic beverages will be permitted only at events authorized by SKATELAND and only to persons of legal age upon presentation of an ID.
  3. It is forbidden to bring potentially dangerous objects into the premises. These include, but are not limited to, sharp objects (such as knives, pocket knives, scissors), flammable materials (flammable liquids, compressed gases), firearms, gas weapons, electric shocks as well as any weapons and other objects that could cause injury or damage.
  4. Access to the Skateland Location is forbidden to persons under the influence of alcohol, narcotic or stimulating substances, as well as persons under treatment or suffering from medical conditions and who have not received the consent of a doctor. Participants are hereby informed that activities carried out in Skateland under the influence of such substances may impair the Participant’s ability to engage in sporting activities or use any of the facilities at the Location and may have particularly serious consequences for their health and the safety of other Participants.
  5. The consumption or sale of alcohol, drugs, stimulants, sedatives / hallucinogens or illegal substances or other such substances is prohibited within the Location and its premises. By exception, alcohol may only be sold and consumed under the conditions of an event authorized by SKATELAND.
  6. Smoking is prohibited in the Skateland Location (including smoking with electronic devices).
  7. Access to the Location after closing time is not permitted. In this regard, it is the Participants’ obligation to check the Skateland timetable and any possible changes due to private events or other causes. Participants are not allowed access to the Skateland staff areas.

Rules for underage children

  1. It is recommended that underage persons wear appropriate protective equipment, i.e. helmet, knee pads, elbow pads.
  2. In the case of children under the age of 14, supervision by a parent/guardian/escort is required for the duration of their stay at the Location. If the parent/guardian/escort decides to leave the Location, he/she assumes responsibility for the safety of the child. Skateland provides a safe and organized environment, but does not assume responsibility for the individual supervision of children or for incidents that may occur due to lack of adequate supervision by the parent/guardian/escort. Staff will take reasonable steps to intervene in situations that jeopardize the safety of Participants, but any decision regarding the child’s safety or behavior remains solely the responsibility of the parent/guardian/escort. In the event that the child displays inappropriate behavior or behavior that may endanger his/her safety or the safety of others, the Staff has the right to remove him/her from the skating area and lead him/her to the Reception area to await the return of the parent/guardian/escort.
  3. In the case of groups of children accompanied by facilitators (children’s classes, associations, recreation centers, etc.), they are under the full responsibility of the facilitators, under the same conditions as in the previous paragraph.

Liability

  1. Skateland will not be liable for any accidents or injuries of any kind to Participants within the Location.
  2. Participants are responsible for any damage caused to the Location, including skating equipment, and will be liable to pay the actual repair costs.
  3. In the event of loss of an item belonging to SKATELAND, the Participant shall pay its replacement value.
  4. Nothing contained in these Internal Operating Rules and no action or statement by any Skateland employee shall be construed as requiring Skateland to provide for the safekeeping of the Participant’s personal belongings or to take them into custody or safekeeping, in which sense Skateland shall be exempt from any liability for loss, damage (total or partial) or theft of the Participant’s personal belongings while on the premises of the Location.

Complaints and reports

  1. Any suggestion, claim, complaint, report or request from Members (“Request”) shall be made in writing and submitted to the Skateland Location’s reception desk no later than 15 working days from the date of the event. The Request must compulsorily contain the following elements: name and surname of the person making the complaint/the name, in the case of a legal entity; his/her capacity (only if the person signing the complaint is an authorized representative of another person or a representative of a legal entity); identification data: residence, PIN, ID series and number, in the case of a natural person/ registered office, unique identification code, Commercial Register registration number, in the case of a legal person; full description of the event as well as the date when it occurred and, if applicable, the time when it occurred; full and correct address to which Skateland’s reply will be sent; date of drafting; signature of the person addressing the Complaint (and stamp if a legal person). All Requests submitted will be dealt with within 15 working days from the date of registration in Skateland’s records. Skateland reserves the right to refuse to process the Request if any of the above elements are missing. Skateland does not guarantee favorable resolution of Requests.
